The Blue Cape of Cinema in Geneva, June 2004
The Blue Cape of Cinema
is an ephemeral monument inhabited by 12 persons
the time of each performance. Each action consists of a march
parade
in a city and a place of a designated country.
During the processing of the parade, the inhabitants of the Cape
will change masks and identities.
The cape is continuing its
journey to Geneva at MAMCO
(Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art), where it repeats its
performance.
This time, it is invited for the exhibit "Love, Work, Exist
-Artists and Communities, Post 1968"
with James Lee Byars, Judy Chicago, Lygia Clark, Jorg lmmendorff,
Gordon Matta Clark, Lygia Pape - Nicola L.
The performance takes place in the large courtyard of the museum
in front of a huge crowd,
and although the idea of the performance is the same, it is completely
different in each country.
This time, the ambiance is that of a festival, a parade.
